RESIDENTIAL CAMP

Residential camp is an experience of a lifetime! A chance to meet new friends, to experience new things, to grow independently and to walk away with unforgettable memories you will have for a lifetime. All campers are carefully matched up with Special Friends (depending on the need of the camper, we maintain a 3 camper to everyone 1 of our counselors). Every camper fills out a "Special Friend" Information sheet on the back of the health form to help our Directors find the best match for their interests, needs and personality.

During the session the campers are divided into age groups. Within these groups the campers grow, support and challenge each other. The group learns how to support their peers and build their individuals skills within a positive group dynamic.

Some quick facts about Residential camp at both of our locations:

• an 11-day overnight program offered at Camp Trillium Oddfellow & Rebekah Island (formerly Garratt´s Island) and Rainbow Lake. Provides a special place for youth to explore nature and learn about themselves in natural settings.
• activities include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, archery, arts and crafts, drama, high and low ropes, project wilderness, outtripping, campfires, and more!
• sessions are regionalized according to treatment centres; therefore, campers from the same clinic can attend camp at the same time if they choose. Bus transportation is provided from at least 2 cities for each session. (London/Windsor, Kingston/Ottawa, Hamilton/Toronto)
• campers register for any site or residential session they choose
• medical support is provided by the nursing director and a team of nurses and health care aids for each session, and is on duty at all times, including outtrips. Medical backup is available at local hospitals, 15 minutes from both sites. The Kingston clinic is one hour east of Camp Trillium Oddfellow & Rebekah Island (formerly Garratt´s Island). The McMaster and London clinics are a one-hour drive from Rainbow Lake.

Length: 7 days, 6 nights The one residential camp at Camp Trillium Oddfellow & Rebekah Island (formerly Garratt´s Island) and Rainbow Lake is a shortened version of our 11 day residential camps. The age range, activities, groups and special friend matchups are the same. The one week residential camp is a chance to get a little taste of what "res camp" is all about. A chance to meet friends, try new activities and not miss home too much.

The one week residential camp also provides transportation from65 city centres (Windsor, London, Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto.
